08/15/07: Lifelack #1: Greatness and the lack thereof
As modernity progresses, the existence of humanity between each individual can be determined through great profundity. Currently, many may view themselves as great, others view themselves great from a modest perspective while others assume the position of greatness as unimportant within their everyday lives. Theorizing the potential in which one can achieve greatness remains unknown as to the meaning of life. How great is great exactly, at what point of greatness can one possibly be great? Does greatness depends upon one's perception of greatness? Sure, why not? These questions to lifelack create a broad perception to finding greatness as it always remains unattainable until being becomes content.
I admit, I am not great. I never saw myself as great, maybe you see me as a great person, does that equate to my current position as great? Not really, I still wouldn't see this greatness. In fact, I would be flattered and exhilarated through that comment but it doesn't increase my greatness.
Overall, I try to set goals for myself. I admit, I never really arrive at the perfection I try to achieve nor a conclusion for where I'm going at. Do I make mistakes? Sure, all the time. Does it decrease my greatness and contribute to its lack thereof? Not really. I learned something. Maybe that's what greatness is, a point in your life when you learn something that really infiltrates itself through your mind. It does feel great, no doubt about it. Just not so great afterwards when you forget. In conclusion, greatness is a emotion similar to love. How do you know you're in love? Same way you would know, if you achieved greatness. Same way you would know, when the answer to the meaning of life is revealed.
