I'm old, not dead. I love going to live concerts and being in front of the bands. I love industrial bands such as Nine Inch Nails, trance such as Paul Oakenfold, and also love to support various local bands. I've been to a lot of concerts and seen a few bands so often, such as Gravity Kills, that the band members know who I am. No, I'm not a groupie! I just love hearing live music and take every opportunity to get right up in front! I have been using a computer since 1993 and would consider myself to be self-taught but also take computer classes and am eventually hoping to graduate from the nearby Junior College. I take care of computers as my daily job and also have been driving a school bus for many years. I'm just that multi-talented. :-) I don't like romance movies or books, and much prefer War movies like "Saving Private Ryan" and one that I just saw "Saints and Soldiers". I go to the NHRA (National Hot Rod Racing) Nationals that are held at Joliet Route 66 each year. Watching those funny cars and top fuelers are quite a treat. Just have to remember to bring along the ear plugs as they are LOUD! I enjoy Nascar racing IF it's live and I'm sitting in the stands. If it's on TV, well, I don't do TV as that would put me to sleep. My first race was the the Inaugural at Chicagoland Speedway in 2001 which was unbelievable. If you've not seen a race live and have the opportunity to go, do so. What a rush even being a spectator. I don't have a specific favorite driver, but like Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (what a babe!), Jimmie Johnson, and Kyle Busch. I went to Lowe's Motorspeedway for the race over Memorial Day several years ago and had a blast. Visited DEI and also Hendrick Motorsports. You wouldn't believe the garages as they are so clean you could eat off the floor. The fans are so friendly and helpful and if you don't have a good time, then you must not want to. I've been to Daytona International Speedway for two Pepsi 400 races in July and that track is my favorite, so far. You can "feel" the cars flying by at breakneck speed. Taking a tour of track gives you a different perspective on just how steep the banking on the track really is which you won't get while watching it on TV. Thinking about cars flying around the track at 190+ mph at three and four wide makes you realize what excellent drivers these guys are-wow! One of my goals in life is to take the Richard Petty Driving Experience and take a Nascar car for a spin on my own. Now that's racing!
